Description 

Sigel is an unincorporated town and sets at the intersection of PA Routes 36 and 949 in Jefferson County approximately 8 miles north of Brookville. It was originally founded in 1850 by Judah P. Haggerty.

It is known as the birthplace of former Philadelphia A's and New York Yankees pitcher Bob Shawkey. He was the starting pitcher in the previous version of Yankee Stadium in 1923. He also served in World War I.
