Paramount Theater Building

121--127 3rd Ave., SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Overview

The Paramount Theater began as a Vaudeville theater that included a huge Wurlitzer Theater Organ with the console on a lift. It was an opulent palace that was totally restored - only to have the restoration devastatingly ruined in the Flood of 2008. The entire basement and most of the first floor was completely inundated.

A $34.7 million restoration was completed with a grand re-opening in the fall of 2012.
