The Kendall-Blankenburg House is architecturally significant at the local level because it is a good example of the Second Empire Style with additions from the Stick Style. The main block of the house was built in the Second Empire Style and sat on an unusually tall stone foundation. The stone foundation gave the house added height and interest. The addition of the Stick Style east ell and other details give this house further architectural interest. What makes this house even more important is its well-preserved interior. The basement and first floor of the house have fine details primarily from the c.1890 alterations, while the second floor has many details from the original Second Empire style house. While some modern alterations have been made to make the house more suitable for the 21st century, primarily the addition of modern bathrooms, the current owners have restored this house to much of its turn-of-the-twentieth-century appearance. The result is a house that has a high degree of integrity both on the exterior and the interior.

As you can see from the metadata, "14 Sixth Street" is the address provided by the NRHP, which was the basis of the original listing and the photographs posted here. A review of the original application indicates this was a clerical error at the NPS. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
