Description

This is an early and key example of a major style of domestic architecture in America in the second half of the 19th century. It is characterized by open planning, irregular and picturesque massing, deep porches, and richly articulated wall surfaces with bracketing and half-timber patterning. -- Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS RI-322)
