Turner Ruby House
Posted May 30, 2022, by Fred Kidd (Ernest [dot] kidd [at] yahoo [dot] com)

Some of the information on this site is incorrect. The house was built in 1896 not in the twentieth century with a total of 5600 square feet. It was the first residence in Hopkins County to have electricity (1913).

I am the current owner of the house. The exterior walls are three brick thick. It was built by Turner Ruby at the age of twenty five. The family owned the second largest lumber company in the state.
