How would one know which side of an octagon is the front? According to the Neenah Historical Society, this was the front of the house, with the porch overlooking the shores of Little Lake Butte des Morts, behind the photographer's position.

Description
Main Street is now a viaduct. The house can be visited via Smith Street. It is owned by the Neenah Historical Society and according to the society's website, is open only by appointment.
