Description
At the Mount Clare Station, regular passenger rail service in the United States was inaugurated in 1830. The Nation's first telegraph message passed through the station in 1844. The Roundhouse contains the historical collections of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. -- National Historic Landmark statement of significance, September 15, 1961
