Description

The Depot is in nice shape and can be visited. The mill is in bad disrepair. The windows have been boarded up. The upside is the old wooden water tower behind the mill. These are rare to see. The Mill, along with the adjoining L&N Railroad Depot, were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The first steam mill in Lincoln County was built in 1848 at Buffalo Springs. When it was torn down in 1895 the logs were used to build Baughman Mill. The mill was the first steam powered flour mill in Kentucky.
