Blue Pond, created by a sinkhole (collapsed cave), is the deepest natural pond in Missouri. A small spring at the bottom of the pond produces enough water to fill a small creek that flows through a permanent beaver dam at the lower end of the pond. Blue Pond is part of Castor River Conservation Area and is reached by a short hike from a parking lot off County Road 708.
