Description 

This equestrian statue, located inside Lake Park, honors Brigadier General Erastus B. Wolcott, M.D. The statue of Wolcott was commissioned and paid for by his wife, Dr. Laura Ross Wolcott, one of the first woman physicians in the country. General Wolcott was Surgeon General of Wisconsin in the Civil War and was a pioneer in the care of veterans. (A historical marker for General Wolcott is located at the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers Historic District in Wood, Wisconsin.)
