This district is within the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, from the town of Cumberland Gap up the mountain to the northwest. It is located in Bell County, KY; Claiborn County, TN; & Lee County, VA.

It includes the Wilderness Road, several Civil War forts & batteries, an iron furnace, and 2 D.A.R. markers.
