"This site documents the efforts of amateur paleontologist Clyde Wynia to excavate and recreate as best as possible the now extinct creatures that inhabited the large McMillan Marsh near Marshfield, Wisconsin during the Iron Age. The flesh and bones of all the marsh creatures were ferrous metal, usually mild steel, but occasionally stainless, high carbon or various types of more exotic alloys
Quoted from the Jurustic Park website because no one can tell the story better than Clyde Wynia, himself. A retired lawyer, he took up welding and metal working as a hobby. The collection seems to have taken on a life of its own, with the wit and whimsey of Clyde displayed in the myriad of creatures that populate this amazing site.
Nancy Wynia is also an artisan, working primarily in glass. Her studio and gift shop sits in the middle of the sculpture garden.
