The Art Deco/Art Moderne building housing the Asian art collections of the Seattle Art Museum was designed by the architectural firm of Bebb and Gould. It opened June 23, 1933. It housed the entirety of the SAM until 1991 when the non-Asian collections were moved to a $62 million downtown facility designed by Robert Venturi.
