The Butte Anaconda & Pacific Railway was organized in 1892 for the primary purpose of transporting ore from the mines of Butte to the smelter in Anaconda. The line also provided passenger service connecting the two cities with its Copper Cities Special until 1955. Car No.9 is currently on display at the Anaconda Chamber of Commerce which is housed in a replica 19th century railroad depot.
