This Queen Anne style home was built in 1902 for Fanny and Julius Levy who lived here from 1902 through 1907. Fannie Levy was the proprietor of Mrs. Fannie Levy’s Books & Stationary on Main Street. After numerous changes in ownership, the property was acquired by Whitman College. The college established La Casa Hispana, a residence for students of the Spanish language and Spanish or Hispanic culture, here in 1977.
