Three generations of the Fazzari family operated the Pastime Cafe from 1927 to 2006. The building was noteworthy for its Art Deco period exterior, neon signage and period furnishings. The Pastime closed in 2006 and sat vacant, stripped of its neon, for a decade before reopening as a high-end "taverna".
