Stella Darby's statue stands outside the Medernach Building which housed the Cozy Rooms bordello of which she was madame from 1928 to 1967. Pendleton was considered by cowboys of the time to be the entertainment capital of the Northwest, a town famous for its bootlegging and brothels of which the most notorious was Madame Darby’s.
