Description

Lock C1, located on the Champlain Canal, is a component of the New York State Barge Canal system. The lock lifts boats 14.3 feet and retains its original DC electro-mechanical gate and valve operating machinery. The associated Hudson River dam's 50'-wide Tainter gates were reportedly some of the largest in the country at the time of the dam's construction.
