"The Stripe" was donated to the City of Nashville in 1953 and has been on display in Centennial Park since then. In January 2019, the locomotive was moved to The Tennessee Central Railway Museum for restoration.
Metro Nashville owns The Stripe, and it has been leased to The Nashville Steam Preservation Society, which raised funds to move the locomotive to the museum.
The photographs displayed as part of this listing were taken in Centennial Park in November of 2018, just prior to the move. You can see the appliances that were removed and other preparations underway for the move.
