Description
"This building was erected for the Grand Army of the Republic in Nunda by John J Carter. Carter, one of Nunda's first Civil War volunteers and winner of the Medal of Honor, made a modest fortune in the Pennsylvania oil fields after the War. The Memorial Building, with a Civil War era soldier standing guard over it, was finished in 1906. It is now the headquarters of the Seager Werner American Legion Post."
