Cast iron storefronts
Posted July 4, 2010

I thought I'd add a statement about these. Be sure to look around the bases of pilistars or columns on old commercial buildings that still have their cast iron fronts, you can sometimes find the name of the foundry that cast the front, as well as the year. Its sorta like a "builder's plaque" or "steel maker's mark" for buildings.
