George E. Ganiere
George E. Ganiere (1865-1935) was a sculptor from Chicago. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a protege of Lorado Taft. Ganiere became an instructor there and eventually became head of the sculpture department. Ganiere also taught sculpture at Stetson University and Rollins College in Florida.
He has eight sculptures in the Vicksburg National Military Park, consisting of busts and bas relief portraits. He is also known for sculptures of Abraham Lincoln in Webster City, Indiana and Burlington, Wisconsin.
Ganiere may best be known for an equestrian memorial of General "Mad" Anthony Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
