Description

The remnant of a much larger complex of buildings, this church has a lurid history; at the turn of the century, Frank Weston Sandford founded Shiloh to usher in the Second Coming. But when funds, food, and medical attention went into short supply, people began to die and Sandford was convicted of manslaughter. see http://durhamme.com/durham-life/churches/shiloh-chapel/, or read "Fair Clear and Terrible, The Story of Shiloh Maine" by Shirley Nelson. Stephen King supposedly based the Marsten House in 'Salem's Lot' on Shiloh.
