Description
The north and south piers, and their revetments, are listed on the National Register. Interestingly, the S. Pier lights are not included.
The piers, built between 1857 & 1919, are stone filled timber cribs which were later topped with concrete. Between 1951 & 1983 steel pilings were added on the sides of the timber cribs (the revetments).
