Lincoln Highway--West Beaver Creek Abandoned Segment

Approximately 1 mi. E of Grand Junction between Chicago & Northwestern RR tracks and US 30, Grand Junction, Iowa

Looking West

From the deck of the 1915 Lincoln Highway bridge, along the abandoned alignment of the Lincoln Highway. The alignment was moved south of the railroad tracks in 1921 to eliminate dangerous grade crossings. That's modern US 30 in the distance, crossing the tracks on the way to bypass Grand Junction to the north.
