A rare two story passenger depot stood at this spot for many years where two Southern Railway lines met. The SB Line crossed the Southern main line between Charlotte and Columbia via a bridge. Each level saw daily passenger trains.

The depot was demolished in 1973 to make way for Dave Lyle Boulevard.
