George Washington is an outdoor bronze sculpture by Italian American artist Pompeo Coppini. It is the second of three Washington sculptures by Coppini and was created to commemorate the 1926 sesquicentennial of the Declaration of Independence. The eight foot tall statue was cast by the Roman Bronze Works of New York and was dedicated on July 4, 1927 as a gift to the city of Portland from Dr. Henry W. Coe.
