Avon Five Arch Bridge

Added to the NRHP January 4, 2012. The bridge was built for the Rochester & Geneseo Valley Railroad which was leased to the Erie Railroad in 1871. The bridge is 200 feet long, 12 feet wide, and approximately 30 feet high. The five elliptical arches are built of ashlar on limestone piers. The line was abandoned in 1941. The bridge has become a piece of civic pride and it was stabilized in 1992.
